An ancient Chinese proverb states "A picture is worth a thousand words".
In this series of photographs we will tell the story of "Big Blue". The rifle is based on an Olympic Arms Action
with a long Douglas barrel. The stock is a Carribean Blue Laminate with a 5" forearm from Richards Microfit, thus the
name.

The commercial Olympic Arms action was large enough to handle the cartridge but needed some machining to extract/feed
the cartridge. The barrel was a blank and we had to thread, chamber, and cut & crown it. Sounds simple, but
requires set up and hand chambering to ensure proper fit.

| Manufacturing of scope base for .30-378 |
As we searched for the parts to put this rifle together, we could not find a commercial base to fit the action.
This created the need to manufacture a one piece base to accomodate Leupold 30mm rings. We attached it to the receiver
with 4 #8x40 screws.
We are limited on the sequence of pictures on the metal work on this rifle. We found that we have a lot of pictures
related to the stock work that show the metal work in various stages. Visit the stock page to get a better idea of the
work involved as one goes hand in hand with the other.
